Why Frugal AI?
As defined by many of the resources presented here, and particularly by the Afnor Spec Frugal AI, it currently appears to be a credible alternative (perhaps the only one?) to the all-encompassing AI approach and helps mitigate its environmental impacts.
Why 31 resources?
It’s a nod to the surprising number of best practices identified in the Afnor Spec Frugal AI! The goal of the site is to stick to 31 resources, updating them over time by replacing outdated ones with more relevant ones.
What are the selected resources?
Most of the resources are produced by non-profit organizations, NGOs, or public institutions.
The site does not exclude selecting resources from private entities as long as they remain open and do not require commercial compensation to access or use them.
How are the resources selected?
It is the journalist’s critical eye at work. The selection is therefore subjective but maintains journalistic objectivity.
To better understand the content of these resources, you will find a critical analysis on each page detailing a resource, featuring "the editorial perspective", as well as noted pros and cons.
What content developments are planned?
A series of meetings will delve deeper into the purpose of each mentioned project to better analyze them. This is part of a continuous improvement effort throughout 2025.
Is one of your resources cited?
Do you have feedback or a concern about how your resource is cited on this site? Feel free to reach out to the author to discuss it. This platform is open to your reactions to improve its content and provide the most accurate information about each identified resource.
Want to share feedback?
Do you have an idea, a remark about the content, suggestions for improvement, or a critique? Feel free to contact Rémy Marrone by email or on LinkedIn.
